En 1996, sortait l'album fête foraine de The Apartments en version CD digipack limitée à 3000 exemplaires. Un album souvent considéré par les fans comme un sommet dans la discographie du groupe australien.

fête foraine, enregistrement à six mains avec Peter à la guitare acoustique, Chris Abrahams au piano et Miroslav Bukovsky (trompette et bugle) est une étonnante pierre angulaire dans la précieuse discographie de The Apartments. Peter Milton Walsh y revisite dix chansons de ses précédents albums en les dépouillant de tout ou presque. Tout sauf l'émotion qui le traverse de part en part, portée ici par la voix, encore et toujours, les notes de piano et la guitare acoustique.

Bien plus qu'un exercice de style pour fans avertis, fête foraine est un disque d'une sensibilité brute, unique, indispensable.

Remasterisé par Don Bartley, déjà aux manoeuvres pour le disque original, cette édition contient des photos inédites de Bleddyn Butcher, (longtemps photographe pour Nick Cave). Avec un artwork recomposé à partir de la pochette originale par le non moins légendaire Pascal Blua, fête foraine sort pour la première fois en vinyle.
