A l’automne 2012, Françoiz Breut fut la première artiste invitée de Label Pop, pour un entretien autour de l’album qu’elle publiait alors, La Chirurgie des sentiments. Un beau moment, un peu intimidant pour moi après tant d’années à écouter ses disques. Aussi, quand au début 2016 s’est présentée l’opportunité d’enregistrer une session avec Françoiz, je n’ai pas hésité. Quitte à jongler avec les moyens dont disposait alors l’émission. Pour la quatrième saison de Label Pop, j’avais en effet pris l’habitude de “rentabiliser“ au maximum le temps de studio accordé, en enregistrant plusieurs artistes lors d’une même séance.

Au point de me faire un peu taper sur les doigts par l’équipe technique, ce mercredi 24 février 2016, à l’issue d’une journée très (très) dense, où j’avais échafaudé un planning infernal : deux sessions solo le matin (Kevin Morby puis Matt Elliott) et deux sessions en groupe l’après-midi (The Magnetic North puis Françoiz Breut). Tout s’était très bien déroulé, avec une confortable avance sur le planning et dans une bonne humeur parfaite, mais au prix d’un concentration et d’une énergie folles.

Malgré le travail déjà accompli plus tôt dans la journée, c’est une équipe disponible qui accueillait Françoiz Breut, Stéphane Daubersy et Antoine Rocca, venus spécialement de Bruxelles et eux-mêmes très concentrés sur leurs chansons, encore neuves et pas toujours faciles à jouer sans filet. Le résultat est d’une beauté limpide.
